Upcoming Public Engagement Opportunity for the Florida Avenue Corridor Study
The Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), in partnership with Arapahoe County, is developing a plan to enhance mobility and connectivity along the Florida Avenue corridor. The plan will look at potential improvements for better pedestrian, bicyclist, transit, and micromobility access along the corridor. The study is expected to be completed in February 2027. The study area includes the Florida Avenue Corridor, spanning from Cherry Creek Trail to the west of Quebec Street in Denver to the Florida Light Rail Station in Aurora (approximately four miles). The study area also includes the Four-Square Mile neighborhood in unincorporated Arapahoe County. A map of the study area is below.
The first public engagement event for the study will be a pop-up held at Eloise May Library from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. next Wednesday, July 22nd. At this pop-up event, the project team will be available to discuss the study goals, the proposed design alternatives, and any questions or feedback attendees may have!
The project team has also developed a survey to collect feedback virtually. The survey is now open and will remain open until Sunday, August 16th.

Survey responses will be used to identify which alternatives the community finds most desirable and will be used to further understand existing challenges and opportunities along the corridor.
Another round of engagement is anticipated to occur in fall 2026. As details about this second round of engagement become available, they will be posted on the project webpage.
